What drives the preferences
What shapes how ENTPs work
Four parts of the ENTP type do most of the work in explaining career fit. Each describes a tendency, not a rule, and any ENTP can develop in directions this page doesn't cover.
Ne Hero
Room to explore possibilities
Ne tracks possibilities, other people's wants and future consequences. ENTPs may thrive when they can brainstorm, adapt and anticipate what people will want, and can lose energy in work that allows only one fixed way of doing things.
Ti Parent
Accuracy and clear reasoning
Ti Parent takes responsibility for getting things right. ENTPs may care about accuracy and about explaining what is true, and can be frustrated when errors are waved through.
Starter style
Getting things moving
As an Informative, Initiating and Progression style, ENTPs often enjoy starting projects, involving others and keeping everyone informed. They may find the final stretch of a project harder than the beginning.
Intellectual temperament
Work that improves systems
Intellectuals are Abstract, Pragmatic and Systematic: future-oriented, independent and focused on what works. This can draw ENTPs toward innovation, research, technology, strategy or entrepreneurship.
