Type pairs
The ENFJ and INTP make a pedagogue pair: they share two functions in swapped positions, so each can teach the other something. No pairing is guaranteed, but these two minds fit together in unusually specific ways. Here's why they tend to click, and where they can clash.
Teacher and student
Every type has all eight cognitive functions, in a different order. The top four form the ego, the side of the mind a person uses most. The bottom four form the shadow, which is less conscious, more pessimistic, and used less often.
The ENFJ and INTP lead with opposite sides of the same perceiving function, and share the same two judging functions, Fe and Ti, in swapped positions. Fe is the ENFJ's Hero but only the INTP's Aspirational, while Ti is the INTP's Hero and the ENFJ's Aspirational. That makes each one a natural teacher for the other in one of these areas.

Where they meet
The ENFJ and INTP meet as opposites on their perceiving functions, and as teacher and student on the two judging functions they share.
Fe Hero and Fe Aspirational
Fe belongs to both of them, but it's the ENFJ's Hero and only the INTP's Aspirational. The ENFJ can teach caring for others' feelings here, and the INTP can bring a genuine curiosity to it, as long as they don't turn it into a competition.
Ni Parent and Ne Parent
Both take the future seriously. The ENFJ plans their own path responsibly, while the INTP watches where choices could lead for everyone. Together they can plan well, as long as neither expects the worst.
Se Child and Si Child
Both are naturally good at enjoying life together, but in the Child position either may overdo it. A few healthy limits help.
Ti Aspirational and Ti Hero
Ti shows up in both of them: strongest in the INTP (Hero) and still developing in the ENFJ (Aspirational). That makes the INTP a natural guide for thinking things through, while the ENFJ's enthusiasm keeps it from feeling like a chore. The risk is that they start keeping score.
How they work together
The ENFJ is a Structure type: they tend to take the lead, give clear direction, and focus on a planned result. The INTP is a Background type: they tend to support from behind the scenes, stay informed, and help keep the intended result on track.
Structure and Background types often get along well. They share a focus on the outcome: the Structure type takes charge, while the Background type provides the context and support that help the plan succeed.
Their communication styles balance out too. The INTP gives context and detail; the ENFJ gets straight to the point. One fills in the picture, the other keeps it moving.
Takes the lead and keeps things on track.
Supports from behind the scenes and keeps things steady.
Temperaments
Both temperaments are abstract, focused on ideas, meaning, and the future. The ENFJ is an Idealist, who likes to work through problems together with others. The INTP is an Intellectual, who prefers an independent approach focused on what works.
They balance each other out: one brings people into the picture, the other brings a clear-headed focus on results. The same difference can cause friction when one wants to talk a problem through together and the other wants to solve it alone.
The honest part
Sharing two functions gives them plenty to teach each other, but it also gives them two places to compete.
A note on compatibility: no pairing guarantees a good relationship, and no pairing rules one out. Type explains tendencies. How healthy and developed each person is matters far more than which four letters they have.
